School Site Council

What is the School Site Council?The Anzar High School Site Council (SSC) is a collaborative group of parents/guardians, students, teachers, staff, and school administration who work together to support student success and continuous school improvement.

The Site Council works closely with the principal to help develop, review, and evaluate Anzar's School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). The council also provides input on how school resources and funding can best support the goals and needs of our students.

What Does the Site Council Do?Throughout the school year, the Site Council reviews information about how our students and school are doing. This may include:

• Student achievement and academic progress
• Attendance and engagement
• School climate and discipline data
• Student, family, and staff feedback
• Progress toward schoolwide goals
• Programs and services available to students
• School funding and how resources are used to support student needs

Using this information, the council works with school leadership to identify areas of strength, areas for growth, and priorities for continued improvement.

An important part of this work is ensuring that all students have opportunities to succeed. The council considers the experiences and outcomes of different groups of students and helps identify ways the school can address gaps in achievement, access, engagement, and opportunity.

Why Parent and Student Voices MatterAnzar is a small, relationship-centered school, and we believe our families and students should have a meaningful voice in the direction of our school.

Parents and guardians bring perspectives that school staff may not always see, while students provide firsthand insight into their experiences at Anzar. Their participation helps ensure that decisions about school priorities reflect the needs of the entire school community.
